Dear Members,

Time is marching on!! (Get it?) Spring fever is in the air!! Picnic time is near!!! Aupa!! Aupa!! With the sun beginning to shine and the flowers starting to bloom it makes people want to get out! Wow, and are they getting out! You should see all the action going on at the Basque Club on Sundays! There's dance practice, klika practice, pala games, choir practice, members doing club improvements, etc. It's a busy place!! So if you have a spring in your walk, feel full of energy and want to get out, come by the clubhouse. We can put you to work or you can just enjoy all the activities going on! Now on to business!!

BASQUE MISSIONS
Father Tillous will be having a one-day mission at the clubhouse on
Friday, March 25, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for you to prepare yourself spiritually for Easter Sunday. Father Tillous will have confessions (general absolution). Let's have a great turnout again this year! Father Tillous sets aside this day from his busy schedule just for Bakersfield, so let's show him how much we appreciate it! See you there!

FIRST COMMUNION CHILDREN
If you are making your First Communion this year and would like to
participate in the traditional Easter and picnic ceremonies, please call Anne Marie Minaberri at 834-1326.

EASTER SUNDAY, MARCH 27, 2005
Father Tillous will be celebrating Mass on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the clubhouse along with the Klika and choir. There will be an Easter egg hunt in the park after Mass for all the children. A delicious roast lamb luncheon with all the trimmings will be served at noon. Prices for lunch will be $14 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. RESERVATIONS ARE MANDATORY!! This is necessary for us to know how much to prepare! Please call Marilou Onaindia at 833-2527 or Lourdes Iturriria at 399-1886 today! Frankie Iturriria has some pala games lined up for afternoon entertainment. So come and joins us for an enjoyable day with family and friends!

DANCERS' BAKE SALE - EASTER SUNDAY
Reminder - Dancers don't forget to bring your baked goods for the bake sale on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005. Remember the proceeds are used to help pay for costumes and annual trips. We need your support!

KCBC PROGRAM BOOK
The program committee is busy working on the program for this year's picnic. If you are interested in putting an advertisement or memorial in the book please call Joey Iturriria at 393-3165. Prices for ads/memorials are as follows: Full page - $125; Half page - $75,
Business Double - $50, Business single - $25. We are always looking for new advertisers of fun things to put in the book so if you know of any business that would like to advertise or have any ideas then give Joey a call! Also if anyone would like to submit pictures that were taken at NABO or club events during the
year call Joey.

LAMB DONORS
We are looking for lamb donors! If you are thinking about donating a lamb for this year's picnic, don't baaaaaaaaaa...ck out; please call Frankie Iturriria at 325-3130. The cost of donating a lamb is $100. We would appreciate the help!

KCBC SCHOLARSHIPS
If you are interested in applying for a KCBC Scholarship, please call
Frankie Iturriria at 325-3130 for further information or an application. The application deadline is April 15, 2005. You must be a member to participate! See our website for more details and to download an application!

UDALEKU (MUSIC CAMP) - JUNE 12-24, 2005
This year Bakersfield is hosting NABO's Udaleku or Music Camp. Children 10 to 15 years of age can participate. The cost of the camp is $150. This is a great opportunity for your children to get a taste of what it is to be Basque and learn about their heritage. They will be learning a little of everything from dancing, to cooking, to playing pala, mus, txistu, basque language and songs, etc. It's also a great way for your children to meet other children from different basque clubs and to form some lasting friendships and memories. If you are interested in attending you can call the Music Camp Director, Krisite Onaindia at 831-2527.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ANOTHER NEW LITTLE BASQUITA!
Congratulations to Patrick & Christiane Camou on their new beautiful baby girl, Gabriella Louise Camou. She was born on January 21, 2005 in Bakersfield. Gabriella weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long (not for long - just wait till she gets a taste of Wool Growers or Benji's forget the baby food!).

CONGRATULATIONS - NEWLYWEDS!
Congratulations to newlyweds, John and Shelby Mendiburu who were married on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Bakersfield.

CONDOLENCES
Condolences go to the family of George Meske who passed away on January 6, 2005 in Bakersfield.

Condolences go to the family of honorary member Joe Mendiburu who passed away on January 20, 2005. Our thoughts and
prayers go out to both families!

KCBC MEMBERSHIP DUES
Reminder - if you have not paid your annual membership dues, please do so as soon as possible. Those of you who have paid and were not at the membership dinner, please find your membership card enclosed.
